History of Kulfi

During the Mughal rule in the 1600s it was prepared in the royal kitchen for the Kings. Ice was brought in from the Himalayas to freeze the kulfi in an earthen pot or "Matka". Kulfi is made with pure milk, sugar and flavoured with natural spices, nuts and fruits resulting in a decadent, intense flavour.

Kulfi is basically ice cream, but not like any other ice cream...Kulfi is different from the usual ice creams. What makes it unique is the preparation process, the exotic flavours and the natural ingredients. Kulfi is not whipped like ice cream, hence it is denser and creamier dessert. Due to its density kulfi takes a longer time to melt than ice cream.

Traditionally kulfi is flavoured with mango, rose or pistachio & cardamon. But,we simply love using our traditional recipe to create those old time favourites, as well as experiment to create new and interesting flavours. Flavours that are inspired by the season, event themes or just wanting to try something different. Our kulfi flavours capture the energy, joy, comfort and pure indulgence that ice cream brings.

Malai

Malai - meaning "cream", is the original kulfi. It is purely milk based, blended with a hint of freshly ground cardamom. Due to its many therapeutic and digestive properties cardamom is considered one of the valuable spice. Malai Kulfi is a favourite of all Kulfi lovers.


Badam Pista Kesar (Almond Pistachio and Saffron)

This kulfi has an aromatic hint of the East. Infused with crushed almonds (badam), pistachios (pista), saffron (kesar), and sprinkled with ground cardamom, one can enjoy the crunch of these nuts and spices in this Kulfi and its authentic Indian taste.


Mango

India’s national fruit, it is also the favourite of many all over the world.we have sourced premium quality mangoes to blend into this Kulfi. JUMOO Kulfi is proud to present this sweet tropical flavour loved by young and old.


Rose and Basil Seeds

The exotic taste of rose extract is enhanced by basil seeds in this floral scented kulfi. Rose extract is believed to have anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties for the skin. Basil seeds have also been used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicines for centuries.


Guava and Chilli

This nutritious tropical fruit with its health promoting qualities is often labelled as “super fruit” and contains four times more vitamin C than orange. Our Kulfi is garnished with chilli powder to enhance the taste of this fruit.


Chikoo ( Sapota )

Another tropical fruit rich in fibre, it has properties that treats anaemia, blood pressure and anti-inflammatory. This Kulfi is loaded with amazing health benefits and some of you describe its taste as “pear dipped in caramel”.


Date & Walnut

Dates, a rapid energy source provider it contains several minerals like calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and zinc.
